usually before i go lift i have to watch a video of dominick cruz sparring. i do it because we both have the same body type and my whole mindset is if he can do it why can’t i, so it really gets me going in the gym
They Don’t Know…
earlier today one of my teammates, Terry, and I were “play wrestling” and he was whooping my ass. now mind you he’s got at least 40lbs on me and has been wrestling since middle school. Now I’m not saying thats an excuse but c’mon nigga -____-. Anyway, my teammates know that I want a career in MMA and they were clowning me because I was getting beat up by him. I laughed it off but in the back if my mind I’m like these guys are idiots if they think thats how I’m gonna fight in a MMA fight. First I wouldn’t even go to wrestling against someone like Terry because he’s frickin’ huge. Second I’ve seen him and a majority of my teammates throw punches and they couldn’t punch their way out of a wet paper bag. I know I shouldn’t let it bother me but they really don’t have an idea of what I could do to wreck them lol……end
I don’t know what to do over the summer. I want to do freestyle wrestling to get more experience for the sport and to build a better work ethic. However I want to do jiu jitsu because it’ll start me out on my pursuit of a career in MMA and because I’ve also been told that my body type is great for jiu jitsu. I’m still undecided so what would you guys do?
